David E. Wooster

Since 1972, David E. Wooster, founder of David E. Wooster and Associates, understood the fundamental connection between transportation needs and economic productivity and success. With extensive experience in both the private and public sectors, Mr. Wooster dedicated his career to advancing the transportation profession in Western Pennsylvania through traffic planning, engineering, and design.

On this premise, Mr. Wooster built and guided the firm with a clear vision in transportation planning and engineering with the goal to serve his clients with an unmatched level of integrity. His son, Charles A. Wooster, P.E., PTOE also led the firm, sharing his father’s vision and continuing his legacy. Under his leadership, David E. Wooster and Associates expanded the services it provides to keep pace with the ever-changing industry requirements relative to traffic study and design approvals and permitting.

For over 50 years, Wooster has remained at the forefront of the consulting profession, providing services to clients both in the public and private sectors throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio.

In December 2022, Wooster was acquired by CSI USA Group, a holding of AEC industry professional services companies, investing in architecture and engineering firms which provide services in the private and public sectors, covering residential, industrial and infrastructure markets. These firms build on their technical excellence to apply CSI’s core values of Innovation, Excellence and Commitment to provide solutions to their customers, while improving the quality of living of communities with creative design, planning and engineering practices. CSI has participated in more than 2,000 client projects from more than 25 countries, and it has been working with clients in the U.S. for decades.

The acquisition of Wooster brings CSI’s team to over 300 professionals, adding a strong reputation, expertise, and experience to CSI’s capabilities while expanding its footprint in the USA. This acquisition is expected to be CSI’s first of many, and complements the group’s industry sector startup Redtree Engineering, based in Illinois.

Wooster serves its clients with a passionate and continuous drive for quality, engineering soundness, and integrity. Under this leadership, David E. Wooster and Associates has expanded the services it provides to keep pace with the ever-changing industry requirements relative to traffic study and design approvals and permitting. The firm will continue to focus on the needs of clients and pursue cutting-edge, cost-effective strategies to accommodate our clients' obligations while maintaining our responsibility to the safety of the public.
